The Full Story

Training Period: October 04–31, 2026 Venue: Bangladesh Adventist Nursing College (BANC), Gazipur-1750, Bangladesh Organized by: 1000 Missionary Movement Bangladesh, Seventh-day Adventist Church in Bangladesh

Introduction

The 1000 Missionary Movement (1000MM) is a global missionary initiative of the Seventh-day Adventist Church dedicated to training and mobilizing young people for mission service. Since its inception, the movement has inspired thousands of young men and women around the world to dedicate a year of their lives to sharing the gospel, serving communities, and preparing for lifelong Christian leadership.

Through intensive spiritual, leadership, health, and evangelistic training, participants are equipped to become ambassadors for Christ and carry the everlasting gospel and the Three Angels' Messages to communities that have little or no access to the message of hope found in Jesus Christ.

Inspired by this global vision, 1000 Missionary Movement Bangladesh was established in 1997 with a mission to prepare and send dedicated Bangladeshi youth into local and international mission fields. Over the past twenty-nine years, the movement has become one of the most influential youth missionary training platforms within the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Bangladesh, developing generations of spiritually committed leaders, evangelists, and community servants.

History of 1000 Missionary Movement Bangladesh

Since its establishment, 1000 Missionary Movement Bangladesh has remained committed to raising young disciples who are willing to answer God's call to mission. What began as a small missionary initiative has grown into a nationwide movement that has impacted churches, schools, communities, and mission territories throughout Bangladesh.

For nearly three decades, the program has conducted regular missionary training batches designed to equip young people with practical ministry skills, biblical knowledge, leadership abilities, and a passion for soul-winning. Hundreds of graduates have completed the training and gone on to serve in various capacities across the country and abroad.

Former trainees have participated in:

  • Public evangelistic campaigns
  • Church planting initiatives
  • Bible worker ministries
  • Literature evangelism
  • Health and wellness outreach programs
  • Children's and youth ministries
  • Community development projects
  • Humanitarian and relief services
  • Media and digital evangelism
  • Leadership and discipleship programs

The impact of these missionaries extends far beyond the duration of the training program. Many graduates have become pastors, teachers, healthcare professionals, church administrators, Bible workers, and influential lay leaders who continue to advance the mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Throughout its history, the movement has contributed significantly to church growth, spiritual revival, youth engagement, and community transformation. Numerous individuals have accepted Christ through the ministry of trained missionaries, while local churches have been strengthened through the dedication and service of these young workers.

As Bangladesh continues to experience rapid social, economic, and cultural changes, the need for well-trained missionaries is greater than ever. Millions of people still need to hear the message of salvation, health, hope, and restoration. The church requires a new generation of spiritually grounded leaders who can minister holistically—addressing physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs.

The 29th Batch Missionary Training Program – 2026

Building upon the success of previous training programs, the 29th Batch of the 1000 Missionary Movement Bangladesh will be conducted from October 04 to October 31, 2026, at the Bangladesh Adventist Nursing College (BANC), Gazipur.

This intensive four-week residential training program will prepare approximately 60–100 young missionaries for effective service in the mission field.

Participants will receive comprehensive instruction in:

  • Bible doctrines and Adventist beliefs
  • Personal and public evangelism
  • Church planting and discipleship
  • Health and lifestyle ministry
  • Leadership development
  • Youth and children's ministries
  • Community service and humanitarian outreach
  • Missionary lifestyle and cross-cultural ministry
  • Media and digital evangelism
  • Character development and spiritual formation

The training will combine classroom learning, practical ministry experience, outreach activities, leadership mentoring, field practicum, health education, daily worship services, and spiritual retreats. Experienced pastors, evangelists, healthcare professionals, educators, and guest speakers will provide instruction and mentorship throughout the program.

Why This Project Matters

Bangladesh is home to millions of people who have never heard the gospel in a meaningful way. Many communities continue to face poverty, health challenges, limited educational opportunities, and spiritual uncertainty.

The 1000 Missionary Movement Training Program addresses these challenges by preparing young people to become agents of transformation in their communities.

The project seeks to:

  • Prepare young leaders for mission service.
  • Strengthen local churches through trained missionaries.
  • Develop future pastors, evangelists, and church leaders.
  • Promote health education and healthy lifestyles.
  • Expand outreach to unreached and underserved communities.
  • Foster spiritual revival among Adventist youth.
  • Build a sustainable missionary workforce for future generations.
  • Encourage youth involvement in God's mission.

Every missionary trained through this program represents a future leader who can influence hundreds of lives through ministry, education, service, and evangelism.

Objectives of the Training

The training program aims to:

  • Strengthen the spiritual lives of young missionaries.
  • Equip participants with practical evangelistic skills.
  • Train future leaders for church and community service.
  • Promote holistic ministry through health and education.
  • Encourage mission service in unreached territories.
  • Develop media and communication skills for digital evangelism.
  • Foster teamwork, discipline, and Christian character.
  • Prepare missionaries for local and international mission assignments.

Expected Outcomes

At the completion of the training:

  • Approximately 60–100 young missionaries will be equipped for mission service.
  • New evangelistic initiatives will be launched in different regions of Bangladesh.
  • Churches will receive trained workers and volunteers.
  • Communities will benefit from health, educational, and humanitarian outreach activities.
  • The mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Bangladesh will be strengthened through youth involvement.

Project Budget Requirement

To successfully implement the 29th Batch Training Program, financial support is required for missionary training materials, accommodation, food services, educational resources, outreach supplies, health support, transportation, media ministry development, and essential equipment.

Funding Challenge

While church leaders, volunteers, alumni, and supporting institutions are contributing their time and resources, the total cost of conducting a quality residential missionary training program remains substantial.

Many participants come from economically disadvantaged backgrounds and are unable to afford the full cost of training. Without financial assistance, deserving young people may lose the opportunity to receive missionary preparation and serve in God's work.

To ensure that no qualified missionary candidate is excluded because of financial limitations, 1000 Missionary Movement Bangladesh is seeking financial support from churches, mission organizations, former missionaries, business leaders, charitable foundations, and individual donors worldwide.
